Giants Edit 5.3 Unleashed
by King -- Page1

1. Requirements:
Giants Edit v.5.3
Giants Mod Manager 4b
Giants: Citizen Kabuto v1.4
Winzip or another zip file manager

2. New Map
Once you have those four things, you can start mapping without any prior knowledge. First off, open Giants Edit 5.3. Once it is done loading, click on the file menu and select “New Map.” The next window that pops up asks you for a file name. Call your map what you want, but keep in mind you can always change it later. Also, when you give your map a title, be sure to add a .gck extension to it. For example, you could title your map "Glaciers.gck" .
3. Skeleton Structure
After selecting a name for your map, Giants Edit will ask you to select a map to build upon. What this means is that Giants Edit needs a basic structure for your map, like sky textures and water colors.
4. Terrain Creativity
After selecting a map to build upon, Giants Edit will ask you if you want to load the terrain. It is a question of whether or not you want to use the already built map’s terrain, or build from scratch.
5. Map Type
Next, you’ll see the different types you can make your map. For starters, use Mecc vs Mecc. Avoid using the custom map feature, as it still has some bugs in it.
6. The First Map You See
Now you should see a multi-colored oval surrounded by boxes. The rainbow colored oval is your terrain, and those boxes are objects that were originally in the map you chose to build off of. You can remove all the objects by selecting “Clear Objects” in the file menu.
7. Sizing Your Map
Now it’s time to decide the size of your map. To change the size of your map, select “Clear Terrain” from the file menu. In general, a 100 x 100 map is the size of the default small map, 150 x 150 is the size of the default medium map, and 200 x 200 is gigantic.
