The upload form is now complete. Starting from a modest 121 lines of code, it now encompasses 524 lines. As much as I wish it were flawless, I know it will not be. If and when you find an error using the upload form, please email me and detail how you arrived at the problem. For the most part, I expect the upload form to be a great benefit for GiantsWD.
On another note, I have noticed new forum registrations with bogus emails and descriptions. These registrations have been caused by bots promoting pornographic sites and have been quite a nuisance. Being what they are, I have added a script that will instantly ban bots that attempt to register on GiantsWD. Hopefully this will solve my woes =)
The two major scripts I planned to complete are now finished and I am looking for further ideas that can be implemented on GiantsWD. Submit your ideas on the forum and I'll give it a whirl. Until the next big coding project, I will be improving the aesthetic value of the site with various graphical updates.
Also, there are over 100 unclaimed files on GiantsWD, where the author has either changed his/her name or is no longer registered on the forum. If you see one or more of your files in the unclaimed section, send me an email and I will add the appropriate ownership.
The improved submission form is 75% done. I apologize for not having it done by today, but it has tended to be more complex than anticipated. Remember to submit your ideas for what you'd like added to the site in the forum. Any idea is a good idea as long as it is practical and worthwhile.
The second batch of updates is in. You should now see a "List MY Files" link next to privileges. You will be able to edit the title and description of all files that belong to your account. I have also fixed a few security holes within the script to prevent users from modifying files that do not belong to them. The approval submission script is 25% done and should be finished by tomorrow.
- Assigned ownership of all user submitted files on the server to individual forum accounts *(see more below). News posts have also been assigned ownership, but you will not see much change there.
Minor Updates:
- Redirected the feedback page to email to a more reliable address. If you used that page before and did not receive a reply, I probably did not receive your message. If you have something you are dying to tell me, please try the form again.
- Fixed some files in the download section that had incorrect tags and forced the interpreter to render some knarly code.
Planned Updates:
* - Modifiable files. This means you will be able to edit files you have submitted and are attributed to your account (description, title, deletion, etc.). If you see files that you own and have not been attributed to your account (if the author link points to your profile, you own the file), email me.
- Nearly instantaneous file submission. Files will be thoroughly tested and submitted with a screenshot, allowing for a simple administrative "ok" to pass files along directly to visitors.
- Your requests. I am taking requests for features you would like added to GiantsWD. Post your ideas on the forum here.
1.5 patch:
- There are a few hitches to the release of the patch, to say the least. Olden, is working diligently for YOU, but lacks the necessary amount of free time to speed the process. If you would like to see the 1.5 patch eventually released, send kind words, encouragement and THANK YOU'S to Olden(daufderh@yahoo.com). I am sure he will appreciate your thoughts.

Gamespy has added Giants support to their new Arena service (http://arena.gamespy.com). All gamespy users are able to join and create ladders, though subscribers get access to fancy features to make their ladders more fancifull.
